One of my first homebrew items is receiving a full remaster for Truly Sentient Items! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/catilus/truly-sentient-items-by-catilus
While wearing this cape, a mischievous cat spirit will ward you from death nine times. Each time you take damage that would drop you to 0 hit points, the cape makes you drop to 1 hit point instead. If you are targeted by an effect that would kill you instantaneously without dealing damage, the effect is negated against you… but there is a cost!
