Character: Chiyoko Furuya, Human Sorceress and Rogue, with her Xenon Elemental Friend
Chiyoko is an unusual sorceress who relies more on her smarts than her charisma. Relatively diminutive and apparently fragile, she hides great power under her seemingly harmless appearance.
Before her life as an adventurer, Chiyoko was an authoritative figure, but the lure of uncovering secrets turned her into a magical investigative journalist. A truthseeker, she tends to follow her logic in all things.
About Xenon Elementals:
Xenon elementals are the heaviest and rarest nonradioactive noble gas elementals. Though considered inert for all practical purposes, xenon can react with a few especially reactive elements, and it was the first noble gas observed to do so.
Xenon elementals have anesthetic powers. While xenon is non-toxic, it can temporarily affect the brains of most nonmagical creatures and cause dizziness and loss of consciousness. Being about 4.5 times denser than air, xenon causes creatures that inhale it to talk in a remarkably low-pitched voice, the opposite effect to what happens to creatures that inhale helium. Xenon elementals can use these properties to keep troublesome creatures at bay, and though they prefer to avoid combat, they can become dangerous if someone manages to make them lose their remarkable calm.
When electrically charged, xenon elementals glow with a beautiful blue light, but they are otherwise invisible. With the approval of xenon elementals, artificers use xenon in several applications, including in flashing gizmos, tanning beds, and even contraptions that shoot beams of concentrated light.
