Character: Hazel Loydaye, Human Wizard and Thief, with Eyes of Rolim and Shuffleflush's Stinky Shoes
Abandoned as a child, Hazel grew up on the streets and eventually became a member of the thieves’ guild. She stayed with the guild until a con gone wrong introduced her to Cece Loydaye. Cece had a flair for life that slowly chipped away at Hazel's loneliness.
Hazel began learning magic and arcane tinkering from Cece. But while Cece created proper magical items and potions, Hazel's experiments always seem to go awry... whether intentionally or not.
After many years together, Cece started to get sick. Hazel grew desperate as clerics seemed unable to cure Cece of this sickness and started collaborating with her previous contacts in the guild, looking for stronger magic to rid Cece of her ailment. Wanting to protect Hazel from the guild, Cece tried to intervene. This led to Cece's death… and Hazel's madness.
Today, Hazel continues to craft magical items in the home she shared with Cece, but her experiments have been growing more unstable and unusual. She sells potions and other experiments in the corner of busy markets, spinning grand tales around the magical items she pulls from her bag. Due to the nature of her magical items, she is slippery – always having an escape route down an alley as needed.
Those that might gleam more of Hazel's true intentions notice chaos dancing in her eyes. Does anyone truly know what she might be planning next?
About the Eyes of Rolim
Built by the deep dwarf demigod Rolim the Technurge, these arcane-infused spectacles allow sages to skim through entire libraries, solve magic mysteries, and discern the true nature of illusions and shapeshifting creatures.
About Shuffleflush's Stinky Shoes
Once worn by the legendary halfling gambler Shiny Shuffleflush, these fancy shoes are always magically clean and spotless. Stories say that Shuffleflush used the magic of these shoes to get other gamblers to leave the table whenever fortune did not favor him.
