Character: Vedaileris Babblebreeze, Pixie Bard
Veda was born in a little patch of land near a magic river. According to the fae folk who live there, this river is the source of all magic and flows adjacent to every world in every plane. For short-lived mortal creatures, the water is instantly fatal to drink; for the long-lived, it is a great risk. However, ageless creatures like pixies consume it regularly with no ill effects, and regularly play in and about the river.
Veda loved stories from a very early age; she'd only been alive a few decades when she heard tales of a few unlucky faeries who had fallen into the eddy near where she grew up. Of course the stories were often different, but they were always horrifying, and the subject of them never returned. Eventually, curiosity got the better of her, and she ventured too near the eddy, and was pulled in.
There is no way of calculating time when trapped under the stream. Countless times she died of starvation and exposure, only to reawaken, because souls do not flow in the strange between. This terror became all of her existence, and she had resigned herself to it before, on a sudden, she found herself spat out into another world. It took her many years to begin truly exploring it, and fortune helped her stumble upon kind folk first. Since then, she has spent her days discovering, sharing stories, and assisting those in need wherever she can.
