Character: Glail, Elf Cleric, with the Crown of the Tidelord
Born to an elven shipwright father and a kindly human mother, Glail had always found herself drawn to the sea without truly knowing why. As she became older, a dark twist of fate revealed more about herself then she could ever imagine.
One night, pirates attacked her small coastal hometown and while they were beaten back, her mother was captured and her father was mortally wounded. With his last breaths, he revealed to Glail that she was a descendant of a noble sea elf warrior and gifted her a crown of coral that once belonged to him, unaware of the crown’s sentience or bitterness towards mortals.
Now, Glail must work towards earning the crown’s trust if she wants to free her mother and defeat the pirates who terrorize the sea. Will she prevail or will the crown’s distrust make the ocean she loves so much her tomb?
About the Crown of the Tidelord:
Crafted by ancient sorcerers as a gift to a legendary sea elf general, the Crown of the Tidelord once unquestioningly defended vast aquatic realms against abyssal horrors.
However, millennia of ambition and treachery have marred its legacy. Having been used in countless schemes of pirate lords, tyrants, and would-be sea gods, the crown has grown weary of mortal pettiness and no longer obeys its wearer unless they can prove they are worthy. Those who seek to dominate the seas find themselves drowned in a terrible curse, and only those who would use the crown for a noble cause may one day wield its mystical powers.
