Dutifully, Valandor the Stern, has ended the violent rampage of countless demons through the ages. Determined and focused, he became a demon-hunting angel of mythical renown.
But this time it was different.
The demon? Ismira of the Flame, ancient and powerful. Her motives? A mystery. Her transgressions? None that Valandor could find, even scrying far back into prehistory. The more he strove to pin a blameful act on Ismira, the harder he looked into her actions and found no true sin, and the deeper his feelings for her became; feelings not unknown to him, but feelings an angel was not supposed to have toward a demon.
And now, this fateful night, Valandor approaches Ismira, not with his sword of justice, but with a forbidden love confession. More amused than alert, she is waiting to hear what this unusual angel, closing in without his sword of justice, is struggling to confess.
About the Theomachy setting:
In Theomachy, vengeful gods fight each other for ultimate control of the universe, while the mortals of Naam struggle for power on a dying world. Divine magic is a force without expressed will that the warring gods hoard and wield against each other, threatening to undo the entire world. Clerics and paladins are either devout followers of the warring gods or theomachists. Theomachists fight against the gods, liberating divine magic and using it against them.
