Creature Spotlight: Oxygen Elemental
Tiny, invisible, but dangerous, oxygen elementals are confident in the knowledge that their element is extremely abundant, highly reactive, and essential to every nonmagical creature.
As its name implies, oxygen is strongly oxidizing and will easily react with most other elements to form all sorts of chemical compounds, which also includes corroding metals into oxides. Oxygen is also not flammable, but it can cause many chemical compounds to ignite and burn faster and stronger. Oxygen elementals are keenly aware of these properties and if provoked, they can use their power to make all but the most resilient creatures vulnerable to acid and fire damage.
Dioxygen Elemental Allotrope. At standard conditions, two oxygen elementals can each use their action to bind with each other and form a stable dioxygen elemental. In this state, the two oxygen elementals add their current hit points together, lose their Electronegative Aura trait and their Oxidizing Blast action, and count as a single creature with a calm and stable disposition. The dioxygen elemental can use a bonus action to split back into its two oxygen elemental constituents. The dioxygen elemental’s current hit points are divided evenly between the two oxygen elemental constituents.
