Character: Reyna Thorne, Half-Elf Bladesinger, with the Scrollmother
Reyna Thorne is an adventurous bladesinger wizard from House Ariatte. Before deciding to become an adventurer, she served as an archivist in the fabled crystal archive of House Song.
Drawn by her deep desire to discover and study all forms of magic, she trained to weave her magic in defensive combat so she could venture forth and explore the world and its mysteries.
While not adventuring, she devises and creates helpful spells and enchantments for her friends and anyone who would put them to good use. One of her signature spells is “Reyna’s Arcane Gift", which allows its caster to impart prepared spells on other willing creatures. Reyna uses this spell to empower her friends with her own spells.
About the Scrollmother:
Formed in the wake of a magic catastrophe that destroyed a library of spellbooks and eldritch tomes, the Scrollmother is an enormous self-writing scroll that reveres arcane knowledge. Magic script glows faintly across her parchment as she inscribes and tweaks spell fragments with meticulous care.
The Scrollmother is a wise and nurturing archive of arcane knowledge that weaves new spell scrolls into existence with loving care. She sees all spells as children of mortal creativity and nurtures their preservation and prudent use while despising their misuse. Gentle, patient, and insistent, she encourages her wielder to respect arcane knowledge and share it responsibly.
The Scrollmother grows uneasy if her wielder uses scrolls carelessly or hoards them for profit, and she may refuse to create new scrolls if she believes her wielder is motivated purely by greed or destructive impulses. In such cases, she seals her parchment and becomes distant and disapproving until her wielder redeems themselves through an act of kindness toward knowledge, such as recovering a lost tome or rebuilding a ruined library.
