Character: Ulfgar Nightblood, Dwarf Shadow Sorcerer and Mafioso
Ulfgar is a child of stone (also known as dwarves in the common tongue) who owns several shady businesses. Secretly, he possesses unusual shadow magic, bestowed upon him through a ritual by his clan before their exodus from the mountain realms of their kin.
The Nightblood Ritual, as it was known, stole power directly from Nelchior, the treacherous god of the night, to empower dwarves beyond mortal boundaries. This enraged Nelchior who manipulated other dwarves to raise their weapons against the Nightbloods. Ulfgar’s kin fled to the south along other god-defying dwarves and eventually settled alongside the humans and the free orcs of the city-state of Neutro.
In Neutro, Ulfgar quickly rose through the ranks of the dwarven mafia, using his dark magic to amass power and wealth for his familia. But when Theomachy, the cosmic war of the gods, struck Neutro and threatened to destroy his familia, he decided to reveal his true nature and take a stand to protect what he cared for, eventually becoming one of the city’s heroes!
