Character: Svanhild Forestblade, Tiefling Wildfire Druid, Playing with a Flameingo
Svanhild was raised surrounded by love but grew up knowing fear and hatred. After finally escaping Gramtese control, she set out to destroy the human kingdom that had enslaved her people for generations and had killed her brother twenty-five years before. Her love of her people and their deep connection with the flora and fauna around them granted her the power to control groups of animals and the very nature around her.
Upon reaching Irelios, a kingdom that welcomed all peoples, she found herself working with a half-gnome and a half-elf named Rowan to help the half-elf princess claim the throne and gain the aid of the kingdom to free her people from the Gramtese.
Unfortunately for Svanhild, that which she hated most was added to their ranks, a human paladin named Arnim. While not from Gramt himself she still was displeased with his presence, more so when he made his attraction to her known. Despite her dislike of him, a half-elf girl that was his god, Fotir, reborn, touched her. Svanhild took her in as a surrogate daughter of sorts.
After the death of Rowan, Svanhild came to return Arnim’s affection and eventually saw him as her mate. He made her laugh for the first time in decades, and they slowly got to know each other better.
With the deepening of Svanhild’s connection to the human fire god and her chosen warrior, she felt her magic shift in focus from the herding of animals to the destructive and healing powers of the flame.
Now, she finds herself navigating the world of politics trying to help a third child named heir, gathering the gifts from the other kingdoms’ gods to return Fotir to full power, dealing with everything that comes with dating the son of a Viscount, and still figuring out how to free her people without starting an all-out war with Gramt.
Oh, and handling the headaches caused by the eccentric halfling cleric that joined their party now that she has finally started to let down the walls that have kept her emotionally shut-off for the last twenty-odd years.
About Flameingos:
Native to fiery dimensions and searing pools of lava, flameingos are flamboyant flock elemanimals who form enduring friendships with other flameingos and creatures that can stand their flaming nature.
Flameingos perform elaborate courtship dances with each other and love to lounge in lava, standing on one leg to focus on their fiery surroundings.
Fiercely loyal to their friends, a flameingo will not hesitate to rush into battle if it thinks its allies are in danger. It will first try to fly over enemies and scorch them with its innate magic before assaulting them with its blazing beak.
