About Lazuria, the Blue Dragonrealm
Lazuria is a vast land where blue dragonborn and technognomes have formed a progressive union under the guidance of revolutionary blue dragons. Where will you go? Will you share a bottle of zapvodka with the friendly folk of Gorodruzby; experience the thrill of mecha battles in Rabotia; search land, sea, and air for secret gnomish outposts; climb atop Mount Smeg for a chance to glimpse the blue dragonfather; or become lost in Mingleboinka Forest seeking the mythical forest gnomes of the north?
When the dragonmother, Mironde, created the dragonborn to serve the dragons in their war against the vengeful gods of Naam, she divided them into ten nations according to their draconic heritage. The first of the blue dragonborn became the founders of Lazuria, the Blue Dragonrealm.
The citizens of Lazuria embrace progress and comradeship, working together for a better tomorrow. The progressive spirit of cooperation and change is nowhere stronger than the sprawling metropolis of Gorodruzby. Sparking dragonbreath fuels gnomish ingenuity and clever inventions allow blue dragons to reach new heights of glory in the city of fellowship.
To the east of Gorodruzby, the valley of Dragzerno extends as far as the eye can see, housing vast grainfields in what is the largest breadbasket across the dragonrealms. Ten experimental and self-sustainable grain-growing villages tend to the expansive grainfields, but playful gnomes always find time to solve equations upon the grain or impress the occasional crop circle just for fun. Beyond the grainfields, the unassuming village of Smeshnoy is home to the most notorious pranksters, led by the example of legendary pranklords, mortals so ingenious they managed to pull a prank on Sporkus, the technognomish demigod of innovation and discovery, himself.
To the north of Gorodruzby, the tall chimneys of Rabotia never stop spewing spoke as hot forges and brilliant minds never stop producing new and innovative creations. Known as the city of work, Rabotia welcomes anyone and everyone as long as they are willing to work and contribute. After a long day at the forges, the citizens of Rabotia wind down enjoying spectacular battles between homebuilt mechanical monstrosities and gigantic walking vehicles collectively known as “mechas”.
In the heart of the realm, few dare climb the imposing Mount Smeg that serves as the lair of the blue dragonfather, the enormous dragon Khano Min. Those brave enough to reach the top might receive a powerful boon of lightning magic, or thunder might strike them down for their insolence, depending on the dragonfather’s whim.
The ancient city of Gnomelis, birthplace of many early innovations and of Sporkus himself, rests precariously close to the Rip, an enormous terrestrial rift stretching beyond the horizon that defines the eastmost borders of Lazuria. A slip down the Rip is certain death, but those brave enough to climb down the massive rift may find themselves in the bizarre, alien environs of the Sunken World deep below.
To the north of the realm, the frigid sea of daggers forms a natural border beyond which only giants and magical beasts roam. Fish are plentiful in this cold sea and many dragonborn settlements have sprung and continue to thrive thanks to this rich bounty. Lagan’s Fall, the final resting place of a giant of titanic proportions, defines the north-west corner of the realm, while the fortified city of Frostook rests on the north-eastern corner, overlooking the main route to the Serebrygrad, the Silver Dragonrealm and Lazuria’s historic rival. Somewhere east of Frostook, the mystical Mingleboinka Forest fascinates and terrifies technognomes and blue dragonborn alike. Secretive forest gnomes are rumored to lurk in Mingleboinka, eager to lure technognomes to shed the conveniences of ephemeral techno-gizmos and embrace their fey heritage.
Legends speak of three secret technognomish outposts in Lazuria: Forpost Gromoklyk, a mountainous outpost that studies dragons in and around Mount Smeg; Forpost Gluboklyk, a subterranean outpost that monitors unusual activity inside the Rip; and Forpost Splesklyk, an underwater outpost that studies marine life and tracks the activity of giants from the glacial kingdom of Hoccar near the top of the world.
