Common folk pray to Seramis for love and happiness, and the god of beauty often answers their prayers, making their will known through extravagant gifts and physical transformations for their faithful.
Sometimes Seramis might come to a mortal’s dreams, appearing as a beautiful friend who offers solutions to life’s problems while asking only seemingly simple things in return. The destitute may become wealthy, the shunned may become irresistible, and the wretched may become blissful when blessed by Seramis. However, those who carelessly accept Seramis’ blessings might find themselves bound to serve a capricious and possessive master.
Scholar Knowledge of Seramis
Folk stories often describe Seramis as the most amiable and the least dangerous of the warring gods, but the wise and the prudent understand that this is just another lie the self-proclaimed god of beauty uses to worm their way into the hearts of the innocent.
Seramis lays claim on love, beauty, and kindness, but sages understand that they are a dishonest and manipulative god who thrives in hatred, excess, and jealousy. A master of every form, Seramis appears in the dreams of mortals as the most attractive person each mortal can imagine, luring them to damnation with false promises and deals that seem too good to be true.
Apocryphal and Forbidden Knowledge of Seramis
Wise mortals who have become immune to Seramis’ charms and champions who actively oppose their plans know that Seramis true motive lies in stealing the eternal souls of mortals in exchange for ephemeral pleasures. The so-called god of beauty uses the essence of enslaved mortals as a weapon against the other gods, unconcerned by the tremendous suffering they cause.
A fiendish manipulator, Seramis often downplays their own power to lead overconfident adventurers and aspiring heroes to their doom. The treacherous god may even appear to succumb to the might of the other warring gods, only to rise up and stab them in the back.
Several theosophist scholars, as well as those who fought the god’s agents directly, have discovered Seramis’ connection to demonic powers and their dominion over countless succubi and other fiendish manipulators. Ancient sages claim that Seramis might once have been a demon lord who betrayed their own kind in an act of unimaginable depravity that allowed them to ascend to godhood.
