Shiri grew up on a small world in the Outer Rim. She did not know her parents at all and had to survive by herself in a post-Imperial galaxy where High Human Culture was the dominant belief and aliens were little more than slaves or a cheap labor force.
Eventually, Shiri captured and sent to the Empire for a reason she couldn't understand. She was held for nearly a year in a high security prison where she was tortured without being told why.
